The end of the war was officially marked by the Treaty of Versailles, which was signed on June 28, 1919, by all of the Allied and Central Powers. The Treaty of Versailles destroyed Germany after the war. It made them get rid of their army, give up land, and money. It made Germany's economy inflate so much that the average German could not live. They wanted someone to lead them out of poverty, which in turn, was Hitler.
Today, World War I's legacy is still being carried on today. The war took about 9 million soldiers, and 21 million more were wounded.
